Sophia has recently mastered the art of walking. She's been making good use of her new found talent quiet a bit.
Here she is making her way around Isaiah's speech therapist to help herself to some toys.
In this shot she fell on her bottom as I took the picture. It didn't slow her down one bit.
Sophia fought the boys off for that ball she's got but she's always on the look out for the next toy.
Every time I lined up a good shot she walked away. The nerve!
Sophia had a grand old time with those bells she's got.
Looking for more trouble.

More fun with paint
I brought along Isaiah's paint and brushes to help entertain the cousins in New Hampshire. Funny how kids who live hundreds of miles apart will get into the same kinds of mischief when brought together. The kids all enjoyed painting the paper, themselves, and Grammy and Papa's front porch. Everyone got tossed in the tub afterwards.
[Warning: Again do not try this at home without adding dishwashing liquid to the paint even if it says it's washable paint.]

Fun with paint
Isaiah got paint (washable of course) and some brushes for his birthday. I took the boys out onto the front porch to have their way with the paint and brushes. Ethan wandered off to play with the sprinkler by the time I thought to get the camera out but I got some good shots of Isaiah.
[Warning: do not try this at home without first mixing some dish washing liquid (not the stuff you put in the dishwasher) in with the paint.]
Isaiah the budding Picasso.
There's almost as much paint on him as there is on the paper.
Admiring his work.
Bye bye I'm done!

Sophia and the chicken leg
There's an old trick that West Indian moms have to keep babies at bay while mom grabs a few bites of food. You give the baby (who should have at least two teeth) a mostly bare chicken leg. Baby has a good time gnawing on the bone while mom gets to eat mostly unmolested. We tried this on Sophia over the weekend. It work pretty well.

Hubby and the kids
The kids decided to swarm hubby on the couch a few days ago.
Isaiah of course was more interested in climbing over the back of the couch than getting his picture taken.
That's one of my homemade bandanas that Ethan is sporting. A couple of nights before this picture was taken we found him asleep with it on his head.
I finally get all of the kids looking at the camera and hubby's looking the wrong way.
Update: Hubby makes mention of his missing beard in the trackback. Here's the story of how it came to be missing. A few days ago I told him that he needed to trim his beard because he was beginning to look like a shaggy mountain man. Now what usually hapens when I tell him this is that he disappears for a bit and when he turns up again he's clean shaven. It seems he begins with the intent to just trim his beard but can't quite get it even so he keeps cutting. Eventually his beard is gone and he sneaks back to whatever he was doing before he went off to trim his beard. I'm assuming that this is what happened this time as well.
